FACTSHEET: RECOMMENDATION FOR SAN DIEGO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ESTABLISH AN OFFICE OF IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE AFFAIRS

All people should have an opportunity to achieve full social, economic and civic engagement.

But immigrants and refugees in our region often face language and information barriers when trying to find resources and services that would help them settle into and thrive in their new environment.

WE THE PEOPLE must demand that our regional government establish an Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs to serve as a one-stop shop for services and resources to support immigrants’ transition into our county and to create a sense of belonging.

Our region’s diverse, multi-cultural and multi-lingual communities make San Diego stronger and more vibrant.
